Its not the size that counts… It’s how well you burn it!
Inside everyone is a little pyromaniac. Little Inferno is a chance for you to let them out and give them a run. What would you like to burn today?
The latest consumer good is the Little Inferno. In it you are able to burn anything. Where do you get stuff to burn? From a catalogue of course. So in general you buy something, then throw it on the fire. Where is the game then? Items when burnt give you money to let you buy more stuff! By combining items together you are able to get combos, and it is these combos which you are searching for.
This game is very pretty. Items, when burnt, have different effects. A bank unleashes money while the corn cob creates popcorn, all of this of course is then promptly engulfed in flames.
What this game has you balancing though, is not money, but time. This annoys me to no end. I don’t want to be waiting around watching a timer. There are coupons which reduce the timer, but they are limited in quantity. Why make us wait?! I don’t want to wait for delivery. The delivery timer does not enhance, but hinders the experience. Lack of other options also do no favours.
This game is only saved by its story. It is charming and cute and amazingly deep for such simple interactions. This combined with the humour proves that poor mechanics can be saved by novel interactions.
