There are no tests in sight
The zombie apocalypse has arrived. You, and an optional group of friends, have been charged with saving the universe. Of course this is not a task you take lightly. So into battle you run with a board with a nail in one end and the hope that the enemies will give you something more useful.
I cannot say that I am the greatest fan of zombies… or side scrolling arcade shooters. So I entered into this review somewhat disappointed that it was not about trivia or tests. I suppose that I will just have to wait until I can cheat in a dolphin classes. That said, I do feel that this game has been quite well polished.
The controls were smooth (even though they were optimised for controller) the movement was clean and overall the zombies smashed quite well. While there were quite a few nifty combos it was never anything overly difficult. There is a nice range of different actions and events that players must complete to escape the grip of the underworld. There is a good combination of bashing and shooting and blowing up of enemies. So overall it is quite well done.
However, leveling up and earning items restricts new players access to the game. Combining this with the somewhat scarce multiplayer community also makes it harder to pick up unless you are playing with friends.
While overall it is a good game, it doesn’t seem to do anything better than other games out there. It just doesn’t seem to do anything awesomely. There are more zombies games out there than you can shake a stick at, and only few of them have taken this bland premise and made it good. Shoot Many Robots does the exact same thing as this game, just much better.
