CS:GO Zen eSports League Announced

,

Zen eSports Network in conjunction with ESL Australia, have announced the Zen eSports League for Counter Strike:Global Offensive starting in 2017. With a prize pool of $100,000 up for grabs! The Format of the competition is 4 qualifying teams from OCE (2 of which were the Grand Finalists for season 2 at Pax this past weekend) will be playing against 4 teams from Asia, in an APAC (Asia-Pacific) competition, instead of just Oceania. Other than Athletico and ChiefsESC we are not sure of any other qualifiers just yet. Just that they will be found at the second Crown Invitational on January 14th 2017. This league will be really good for our CS:GO scene, as it will give them more international experience and allow them more play time against teams who have a different play style than we do here in Australia. There is also speculation that season 2 and beyond, that the prize pool will continue to grow and hopefully encourage more top tier Asian teams to grace our shores for the competition. The league is due to have 2 seasons per year, which will stretch over 2-3 months with a LAN Finale.
