Niantic Labs CEO, John Hanke, made an appearance at Apple’s iPhone 7 launch to show off a new addition to Pokémon GO, an app on your Apple Watch! You can leave the app open on your Watch and it’ll show you how far the need to walk to hatch an egg, as well as when Pokéstops are nearby, and when wild Pokémon appear. Once one appears, you’ll have to switch across to your phone app to catch the Pokémon as usual.
A representative from Niantic Labs has said more than 4.6 Billion kilometres have been walked whilst playing the game, and with the release of this app I think it’s pretty safe to assume that number will be on the rise rather quickly. The app for the Apple Watch is due for release later this year.
