Rainbow Six Siege’s next expansion, Operation Skull Rain is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the 2nd of August. Check out the trailer for the new map below:
Operation Skull Rain will feature two new operators: Caveira and Capitão, both from Brazil’s Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais (BOPE). Just like the previous operators, Season Pass owners will have exclusive access to them for the first seven days, and get them for free, while everyone else will have to purchase them with in-game currency.
Caveira, the defensive Operator, possesses the ‘Silent Step’ skill which lets her “sneak up on enemies and immobilise and interrogate them to reveal the location of their teammates.”
Capitão, the attacker, carries a tactical crossbow that “fires asphyxiating bolts that burn oxygen within a certain radius, as well as micro smoke grenades that can mask positions and team movements.”
The new expansion will also come with a new map, set in the Brazilian favela.
Additionally, Rainbow Six Siege will receive a new game mode called ‘Tactical Realism’, a new angled grip attachment, and surrender system in ranked play.
According to Giancarlo Varanini, the Senior Communications Manager, the Tactical Realism game mode will:
“prevent players from marking enemies, allowing only the timer, compass, gadget, and weapon panels to be visible in the HUD. Additionally, there are no kill confirmations, and more realistic magazine management will be put into play.”
