New Versions Exclusive Pokémon Revealed for Pokémon Sun and Moon

We’re bringing you a brand new trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon, this one including this generation’s version-exclusive Pokémon, as well as some extra features we can look forward to.

Let’s get into it!

First, we have, well, a rugby monkey! Okay, it’s a lemur. Passimian, the Teamwork Pokémon, is a Fighting-Type with the new ability, Receiver, which allows the Pokémon to inherit the ability of an ally when the ally faints. Passimian is only available to find in Pokémon Sun unless traded, I presume.

Do you know what else is cool, though?

It’s a rugby monkey (lemur), which is exactly what was predicted in the leaks we discussed earlier. Since now this has been confirmed… maybe the rest of these leaks are true, including the final evolutions!

Passimian’s counterpart is Oranguru, the Sage Pokémon, is Normal/Psychic-Type with the abilities Inner Focus, where the Pokémon is protected from flinching, or Telepathy, where it prevents damage from team-mates during Double and Triple battles. Oranguru is only found in Pokémon Moon.

Next, we’re officially introduced to Rockruff’s evolution, Lycanroc after the leaks out of CoroCoro magazine last week. This is Lycanroc’s Midday Form, only found when Rockruff evolves in Pokémon Sun. It’s the Wolf Pokémon, a Rock-Type, with the abilities Keen Eye in which the opponent cannot lower this Pokémon’s accuracy. The Pokémon ignores evasion boosts of the opponent. If it’s first in your party, it also decreases the likelihood of finding low-level Pokémon in the wild by 50%. Or, it may have the ability Sand Rush, which doubles its speed in a sandstorm.

Rockruff’s other form, its Midnight Form is also Rock-Type, with the abilities Keen Eye (see above) or Vital Spirit which prevents the Pokémon from falling asleep. If you evolve Rockruff in Pokémon Moon, you’ll be getting this ferocious looking pup.

Not only do we have new Pokémon to look forward to, but we’ll be able to change the appearance of our character, just like in the previous Pokémon X and Y. You’ll be able to change clothes, change hairstyle and colour, add accessories, and change coloured contacts!

Also just like Pokémon X and Y, you’ll be able to pamper your Pokémon just like Pokémon-Amie! Give them baths, feed them, treats, give them pats, and plenty more!

Lastly, we’re told that, like Raichu and Snorlax, Pikachu and Eevee are getting their own Z-Moves! Pikachu’s is called Catastropika, where he unleashes a great amount of power to thwart the enemy. Eevee’s Z-Move is Extreme Evoboost. He takes the energy of each of its evolutions and increases all its stats greatly.

Pokémon Sun and Moon will be available on Nintendo 3DS on November 18th, 2016.
