Some new gameplay from Sea of Thieves was shown at Microsoft’s E3 Press Conference this morning and it’s looking fantastic. The demo did a great job showing off some more of the moment-to-moment gameplay that we had yet to see. Solving cryptic puzzles to decode treasure maps, fighting skeletal warriors, and firing yourself out of cannons to invade enemy ships all seems like a blast with a couple of buddies to tag along.
It’s absolutely insane and there’s still so much Rare has kept under wraps, so, what is the progression? Can we do anything with all the loot we’ve hoarded from our adventure? It’s one of Microsoft’s most promising exclusive titles, and they’re doing a great job of letting the game speak for itself. The new demo also revealed that the game is scheduled for an early 2018 release, but honestly, it looks so good that the guys at Rare can take as long as they need.
If you’re thirsty for some jolly pirate shenanigans, check out the full 9-minute demo below.
