NBA 2K17 Cover Star Announced, Along with Release Date

The NBA 2016 finals are running hot at the moment between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors (LaBron James vs. Stephen Curry, basically), and in amongst all the excitement, the brand new cover star for the upcoming NBA 2K17 Standard Edition game has been announced!

Welcome, Paul George, number 13 from the Indiana Pacers! Yes, the one who had that horrific leg injury that time. Don’t look it up. But now, he’s back and better than ever!

“I have been playing NBA 2K as long as I can remember, and to be honored as a cover athlete of NBA 2K17 is a blessing and vote of confidence that my hard work on and off the court has paid off.” – Paul George, 2016

With the announcement of NBA’s newest cover star, 2K have also announced the release date of September 20th, 2016 (however, EB Games state it as September 16th for Australia) for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 ($99.95 AUD), Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 ($79.95 AUD) and PC (around $81 AUD).

Along with Paul George on the Standard Edition, Kobe Bryant – the five-time NBA champion who retired earlier this year, scoring 60 alone in his final game with the Los Angeles Lakers – will appear on the Legend Edition, which can be purchased separately and will include extra virtual currency, Kobe’s Nike shoe collection, and two additional MyTEAM packs (Available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One for $119.95 AUD).

If you want to get your fix of NBA action, with PlayStation Plus this month, you can get NBA 2K16 for free on the PlayStation 4!
